The way he disparages judges if they happen to rule against him. A free and open press has become “enemies of the people.” The way he questions even the integrity of his own government - the officials and decision-making processes. We’ve not seen a president this hostile to core values that have defined the workings and the strength of our democracy. Certainly, it’s a diminishment of core values by this president. You keep Princeton out of my hotel, and I'll keep my hotel out of Princeton.' And he just walked out of the house. Then at some point, he just said to me, 'Look. My father put up with as much of it as he could. I come home, one year of Princeton under my belt - imperious, too much of a vocabulary, a budding activist - and I kind of had it out with my father, like, How come they call you Chico? He said, 'My first boss, 39 years ago, called me Chico, and the name stuck, and I never changed it.' I became really insufferable and started lecturing him. I had never heard of my father called Chico. And they gave me a name plate that said 'Chico.' I was just like, what is this? My father's name is Demetrio.
Because my first day on the job, they said, well, since you're only here for the summer, we're going to give you one of his nameplates.
And I remember having a huge altercation with my father. Later on in college, I worked at that same hotel.
